Looking for easy and delicious appetizers to serve your guests this festive season? These bite-size puffs are the way to go, so look no further! Done in less than 15min and I guarantee everyone will love them. Feel free to play with toppings, maybe brie & cranberries or ricotta, Parma ham & honey, mushrooms & thyme…are just some of the ideas on top of my head!
Ingredients
1 puff pastry sheet (make 9 puffs – 9cmx9cm squares)
100g Mozzarella, gouda…or any cheese of your choice!
9 slices of good quality Italian Salami
2 fresh tomatoes – sliced
fresh basil
1 egg yolk mixed with water for brushing
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C. Roll out the puff pastry and transfer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cut 9 squares (approx. 9cm)
2. Top each square with some grated cheese, tomato and salami slice and chopped basil. Fold two opposite corners of each square to form little boats.
3. Brush each pastry with the egg yolk, then refrigerate for 10 minutes before baking in the oven for approx. 15 minutes, until pastries are puffed and golden. Serve warm to your guests with a side salad of your choice, or simply serve them on a wooden board with some olives!
Enjoy,
